Cycling

Every year thousands of cyclists enjoy the cycling paths along the Danube from Vienna to Passau which take you directly to Weissenkirchen.

Many tourists bring their own bikes or rent a bike locally, to explore the area by bike. The tracks run along both banks of the river Danube, either through the villages or the vineyards and orchards.

If you are hungry or thirsty, take a break in one of the coffee houses, restaurants or Heurigen.

To get across the river use one of the bridges (Mautern or Melk) or take a ferry (Weissenkirchen, Spitz or Duernstein).

To rent a bike use Nextbike. Find a Nextbike station in Weissenkirchen next to the train station or bus station. You have to register via e-mail or phone.

There is a service box containing tools, bicycle tubes in different sizes and tire inflator available at the tourist information office in Weissenkirchen. You are welcome to use all these tools, however, we can't repair your bikes for you.
